I will never forget shooting one in the yard with a 45-70 300gr hollow point.
Didn’t have to drag that one off!

The Armadillo Trap company. Buy a scented trap. They will start working the first night. The fun part is what in the hell you do with them the next day.
TAT Company

I’ve found the best time for dillo control is driving the truck at dusk around your fields about 20 or 30 yards or so from the tree line.
ETA: use a 22 to shoot them between you and trees.

See them on the road, don’t try to guess where your tire is, just drive over them and position them in the middle of your vehicle, and honk the horn when you are over them….. they’ll jump up and no more armadillo….

What's the purpose of killing them?
They devastate turkey nests and eggs. That's reason enough for me.
Wow. I live in rural MO and the last three or four years the turkey population has gone way down. I had one decent gobbler on my place this year when we used to shoot 6 or 8. When I see a hen she never has poults. Now the dillo population has exploded. I shoot them by my house but me thinks I need to go out back and start killing them....thank you, should be fun with the direct gas impingement semi-auto carbine and laser.

As a teenager I would chase them until they went into a hole, usually with tail in view. You can't pull him out. I would pull, pull, then push. He would release his grip with the push and I would yank him out. Just thought you would like to know this next time you get one cornered in a hole.
