Prince jammed with a lot of different people from a lot of different genres, because he could play ANY style (think people you'd never dream had even met him), and a lot of those jam sessions were never publicized. A lot of times this would occur at his Paisley Park compound, when he'd invite someone over who was playing locally on a tour, for instance. From time to time (especially since his death), a new story will trickle out about who he jammed with that one night, etc..

I get it if you didn't like him due to his "weirdness" or you just didn't like him for whatever reason.

I CAN PROMISE YOU if he ever jammed with one of "you're dudes", your dude found out QUICKLY he couldn't hold Prince's jock strap musically speaking. ZERO EXCEPTIONS.

His "weirdness" wasn't the reason I found him to be soulless and a more of a poser than a real musician. I like a lot of "weirdness" in my jams.

And I'm not claiming he didn't have a limited amount of chops musically or a measure of talent as a producer.

I'm critiquing him based on his music being mass produced shart.

Imo obviously.

I can't convince you, but maybe explore his deeper cuts

I don't know who one of your favorite artists are, but I PROMISE YOU if you asked him or her about Prince's "limited musical chops" they would laugh in your face. Prince is arguably the best pure musician in the history of music.

Give me a break.

The guy wrote pop songs that transcended genre in a time when the competition was FAR stiffer than it is now. He wrote top quality funk, blues, dance-pop, avante-garde and rock and could throw down with a Hendrix edge. He was a top level live performer his entire career and MADE otherwise average talent stars often just with one song. The guy deserves the reputation Michael Jackson was enjoying in their prime era and his music still has an impact long after its pop wave passed. "Mass produced shart" can't be defined as any of the above. Most "mass produced shart" is manufactured and a face is just attached to it. Prince made Prince.

He was basically a musical savant. I think he could play over 30 instruments at a virtuoso level. He played EVERY instrument on his debut album at 20 years old.

His playing may have been technically proficient, but he lacked soul. At the time he was recording 1999 and Purple Rain, his music was downright silly.

He had a handful of tolerable tunes off Dirty Mind and Controversy. After that, it was mass produced shart.

...and stop getting pissy about it. It's just my opinion.

You are going to have to change your opinion. It’s simply unacceptable.

Prince and David Bowie were absolute guinesses

Garth Brooks is too, but he hasn't changed with the times very well or not nearly as well as Bowie or Prince.

Yeah, that's kind of an odd statement to make about Prince.

Just watching him play in a live setting, even on tape, you can see that is bullspit.

As big of a fan as I am, if I never heard those 8-10 hits of his they still play CONSTANTLY daily on the radio, I'd be ok.

Prince had dozens of album tracks that easily could have been as big as his well known hits were.

Are you actually trying to argue that Prince lacked soul? This isn't a serious thing, right? You can't possibly mean it.

You are an obvious troll and opinions are opinions but to say that prince lacked soul is a joke, even if you don't like his musical style.
