No no no. It’s the rising sea levels that are exclusive to manhattan.

ETA: I say that in jest and then I find this:
quote:

“New York faces significant challenges from flood hazard; the threat of sea level rise is 3 to 4 times higher than the global average along the Atlantic coast of North America …

If climate change and rising seas won’t come to them… they will go to the climate change and rising seas.

The land where NYC is used to be under a mile of glacial ice.

I think they'll be ok.

And if not, oh well.

Well it’s natural for one but it also doesn’t have water anywhere near it

And to think that was only 10 to 12k years ago. It could happen again, but as an old hand quipped as global warming began to replace the new ice age; "It looks like global warming got here just in time to prevent the new ice age."

Greenland Ice drilling studies show that 13,000 years ago (a blip) in geological time NYC was under a mile of ice.

What’s the fuss about?

Because it's being pushed up as one tectonic plate is colliding into and under another.

The land that is Mt. Everest used to be the floor of a shallow sea.
