This entire conversation is stupid, but I think the peak stupidity is trying to brag about academic prestige (as a regional university in fricking Louisiana, no less) and not being able to spell the classification name correctly.

I couldn't imagine being such a loser that I would spend time caring about what another school calls itself. It's pathetic and it reeks of insecurity

For all the back and forth going on over pettiness over our brand name, it’s your side that’s more petty and full of yourselves. You openly admitted that our athletic brand would threaten LSU’s brand but in the same breath call us a directional college. Your brand must be pretty terrible if that’s the case.

It’s a lie. A total misrepresentation by a desperate university and people. You could not do accomplish your goals without falsely claiming you’re Louisiana because you knew you could use it to associate yourself with LSU.

The funding bill from the State has the school as University of Louisiana at Lafayette, if you're so big and bad about it tell them "no thanks" on the $$
Along with the RS on the subject matter, but hey at least ESPN listens
Louisiana could have the population of CA and it wouldn't magically make ULL a desired school on par with Texas and UNC. Also Texas accepts the top 10% every HS graduating class in Texas...ULL simply cannot and never will be able to turn people away like Texas and UNC

Yeah, UL calls itself Louisiana because it wants to be associated with LSU. Not because, I don't know, it's in the fricking state of Louisiana?
