We continue to monitor hour-by-hour changes for where severe weather is likely to develop. Latest models, radar, and high-resolution models suggest storms will develop within the highlighted area by 6 pm
3:33pm: For a bit more of a technical discussion, here's a recent mesoscale update-
Most mesoscale signals seem to be converging on a signal for near-term severe threat increasing over portions of western north Texas and southwest to south-central Oklahoma.
Those areas need to be prepared for the onset of severe storms in the next couple hours.
We're seeing destabilization of the environment generally between the Red River and I-40.
The dryline continues to tighten to the west, and an effective focus of deeper convective clouds in the vicinity of Archer and Young Counties. Winds are notably backed along the Red River Valley.
Many experimental computer models show robust storms, many members depicting supercells, developing in the vicinity of Wichita Falls and tracking northeastward over southern Oklahoma. With the model environment, all severe hazards appear possible.
