I'm usually not one to say VP matters and it might not here
But you can make a decent case he should put a female on the ticket. Both for the "what is a woman" era and because he's got a problem with suburban women.

The bigger concern with DeSantis IMO (and everyone in OP's list for that matter) is that he/they add absolutely zero voters to the ticket.
