Have a 5 acre parcel but need to maintain about 2 acres. Any recommendations on zero turns?

Hoping to spend 8k or less

There's just so many brands. I see the Kawasaki engine is hyped up on a bunch of them. Not even sure where to start

Scag
Dixie chopper
Gravely
Bad Boy
John Deere
Grasshopper
Hustler
Husqvarna

Yes. NEVER try to turn less than zero degrees.

You will disappear. I saw this happen on FRINGE.

Dixie Chopper is overpriced IMO
John Deere makes a terrible ZT
I know nothing about Grasshopper

All the rest on your list are good, reliable products.

Start with a dealer you want to deal with for parts and service. They all break eventually and it’s a bitch hunting down someone to work on your crap when the company doesn’t have a good dealer in the area.

You'll get higher quality responses on the H&G board.

I bought a 2nd hand Hustler commercial mower that currently has 18000+ hours on it with the 25 hp Kawasaki. I can recommend either brands. My next mower will definitely have a Kawasaki engine.

I've had a Gravely for 3-4 years now and I'm happy. Not sure how much time you want to spend on it, but I have 3 acres that I cut with mine. I have a 52" deck and it takes me about 90 minutes to mow.

I have a diesel Kubota. They are pricey but last forever.

I had a John Deere and the belt broke once every 4 or 5 cuts. I got a Bad Boy about 2 years ago and have had great success with it, no problems at all

Had the exact same amount of land and same amount to maintain. I had a Bad Boy Avenger 60” and loved it. Got the 2 acres cut in under an hour. Spend the extra money for a bigger deck

I bought one this season. Extensive research was done. I liked bad boy.

Specifically the ZT Elite Limited Ed.

My yard is just at 2ish acres as well.
I wanted top end residential or e try level commercial.

Researching told me to invest in transmissions engines and ride comfort. I dont.mention deck quality bc scag/hustler/bad boy are all going to have solid products for their decks.

The one I chose had 3100 hydro transmission a brigs engine with the vanguard block. 60inch cut and a very comfy seat.

Cash price is $5990

I would not have even remotely thought about an electric Ego zero turn until I watched this video a couple of nights ago. I was impressed to say the least.

Ego 52" gets put to the ultimate test

I'd have to seriously consider this mower after watching multiple videos about it.

Bad Boy Maverick HD with Honda engine. Thick frame and deck-powder coated. . I highly recommend getting the suspension seat. I've been well pleased. I wouldn't go less than a 54" deck on 2+ acres. This will also fit your initial budget.

I’ve had a gravely 52” for four years and it’s the sheet. Whichever you go with just change the oil & filter, blades, fuel filter, and air filter before each year. Drain the gas when ya put her up for the winter. She’ll last forever. Most models you can order a kit for preventative maintenance for $80-$100 online. Some even come with blades. It’s easy to do yourself and save big money. Watch YouTube videos if ya aren’t already knowledgeable on doing it yourself.
