week at the beach with the fam in early June.
we’ve never been.
any reqs? we want to go to the sea turtle rehab center and i want to find a good seafood market.

Louie's Backyard on the gulf. Dirty Al's on the Laguna Madre
side of the Island. If you want to go into Mexico go in at Progresso. Stay within 3 or 4 blocks of the boarder bridge.
Very safe. Inexpensive food, drinks and med's.
Also, SpaceX is in Boca Chica. Check if anything is scheduled for launch while you are there. Nice isolated beach there.

We always eat at Auturo's in Progresso. Upscale but inexpensive Mexican fare. Waiters in tux's with assistants like it used to be in New Orleans almost everywhere.

I grew up out there. The sea turtle place is really cool. If you like catching trout and reds, hire a guide to take you out in the bay. Incredible fishing. The dolphin watch is fun too.

Pirate’s Landing right before the causeway (kids can take a pic with the pirate)

You can buy fresh seafood around the docks, but not sure there’s an actual market. You can get local caught shrimp/fish at the HEB in PI
Check if there are any shows in McAllen which is about an hour away.
