Why Do Think Meyer is a dirty recruiter?

I know the guy is a douche for running up the score and such, but why does everyone think he is a dirty recruiter? I am not at all saying he is an honest recruiter, I just want to know what everyone has heard? I have heard he is a "liar" but what has he lied about? Just curious... I really am not in the know about Urban Meyer and his recruiting tactics...

told Terrance Toliver late in the process after he had taken an official that all LSU players fail out of school which almost fooled the kid.

i'm not sure what the deal was with peterson, UF fans claim it was the athletic department and they do it to every prospect with a score jump like that. but he definitely lied to terrance toliver and bashed lsu's academic facilities for athletes. i believe he also convinced a recruit to stay officially committed to notre dame when he had given a silent to UF in order to attempt to sway their other recruits

If I recall, when he was recruiting Jevon Snead, Meyer told him he'd be the one qb they were going to go after, then they went right out and picked Tebow up. Meyer lied and said he was recruiting Tebow as a linebacker

This is the exact truth. He wasn't even going to bother explaining it to Snead until he called him on it then he told him Tebow was going to play linebacker.
Meyer is horrible for stuff like this. He lies like he breathes..constantly.

it was carl moore, a juco WR. urban was trying to recruit him but he wasn't overly interested so urban coordinated with the gymnastics coach to recruit moore's girlfriend who happened to be a gymnast. supposedly he would call the girl and talk to her about convincing moore to go to UF and they both ended up going there in the end. i'm not sure exactly how dirty that is but it is definitely a violation

If he does all these things, then why has the NCAA not investigated him and applied sanctions as I am sure some of these must be violations?

most of the things in this thread may be considered unethical but they aren't violations. i think the only one that is an actual violation was the moore situation and it was a pretty minor one

The JUCO receiver they signed in this previous class had a lot of smoke around the recruiting. CUM supposedly recruited his GF to play another sport in order to get him to go to Florida, which is a violation. He was investigated for this internally, then Florida let him off the hook and was cleared of no wrong doing...

He lies to recruits who want to look at other schools. Not just little lies but some that are out there. Flagging peterson (johnson) was a dumb move. He should just pump his program not worry about others.
