Clearly this was put out there on purpose.
If you believe this is the first time we’ve drilled for defending Taiwan then you are naive, certainly the Chinese are not foolish enough to believe that. Airing it publicly is posturing, for better or worse.

Perhaps it is something we want to be known, BBTAIM, China probably has almost as many spies in DOD as Israel so it is pretty hard to keep a secret even if we want to.

All are just different versions of weird flexes with hoped for results of instilling fear as a deterrent.
