Guess these are the tricks you have to resort to when nobody wants to fight on behalf of the gay disco

NBC News

quote:

Hundreds of Army aviation officers who were set to leave the military are being held to another three years of service after they say the branch quietly reinterpreted part of their contract amid retention and recruitment issues.

The shift has sparked an uproar among the more than 600 affected active-duty commissioned officers, including some who say their plans to start families, launch businesses and begin their civilian lives have been suddenly derailed.

If you are a white straight Southern male, what in the hell are you doing fighting for a government that despises your very existence?

The army says they are contracted for 3 more years. Saying I quit isn’t really an option.

They're crashing a lot as well...I'm sure it has nothing to do with going woke, compromising readiness and so forth. Army just ordered a stand down for aviation units.

If you are fine with being court martialed and maybe going to prison, sure give it a go.

Sounds like a stop-loss. Uncle Sam can extend you if it's deemed necessary for the security of the country. Military did it in '01 in order to prep for war.

It's not a loophole. It's spelled out pretty clear in everyone's contracts...

This isn’t a stop loss. Read the article. When USMA cadets were graduating back in the mid 2000s Big Army started doing stuff like offering guaranteed choice of branch, first assignment, or even specialized schools…yes, you could be guaranteed getting aviation, or getting Fort Bragg, or getting Ranger School but you’d owe Uncle Sam time. The promise was that it would be served concurrently and not consecutively with other ADSOs (active duty service obligations). Army change the rules midstream and now are sticking it to junior officers. Aviation comes with an ADSO for flight school which is why it affects those guys more than infantry, armor, etc. Bottomline is the Army is breaking faith with its Soldiers. That’s bullshite. Everyone of these young men and women are professionals but they are human too. You can’t treat people like they don’t matter or they will walk. Soldiers are in tight knit units. They work hard and they play hard. They all know one another. They all care about one another. What affects one, affects all. It’s a ripple effect of young people realizing the big green machine doesn’t give two shits less about them. Brother, this has been my life and it ain’t what it was when I started. I feel for these youngsters. They deserve leaders not politicians.

Maybe they can just pretend to be ghey or trans and get out like Klinger from MASH. Oh wait....that's promotable now.

shite like this is why I am the last of generations of my family to serve.

We’re out. I will not allow it for my sons.

Good fricking luck.

Fully behind you (and not in the Navy way.) French Foreign Legion seems like a better option at this point, because they seem to be completely beyond bullshite. Kids go SOCOM, or they're in the green machine of garbage.

Just remember, they will end up going to University, and not even be able to field strip an automatic weapon, and they probably still won't be able to spell either way :).

They switched the requirement from 6 to 10 years post flight school which killed recruiting to flight school.

Hell, they offered my son a boomerang appointment (leave 160th for flight school and come right back to the unit) and he turned it down over the 10 year requirement.

The Army is also going to lose a shite Tom of guys who currently have about 5 years in. Middle management if you will is about to get wiped out. It ain’t pretty.

That "middle management" is incredibly important to hold onto. Reason is that if you need to rapidly grow your force in order to counter a contingency then simply put those captains and staff sergeants are really the ones who you need. Privates/Specialists/Lieutenants can all be made relatively quickly. You really only need so many Sergeants Major/Master Sergeants/Colonels/Lieutenant Colonels if you are trying to grow your force. It's the bubbas in the middle that 1) are the ranks you need to grow out units and 2) have the time vested in the military to have the experience you require to field an effective combat force quickly if you are rapidly expanding your forces. I'd offer that captains and staff sergeants are the most important ranks in the Army and if need to go toe to toe with a peer or near-peer competitor.

I preach this to the young bucks regularly. I can’t speak for other branches but in the Army, the overwhelming majority of RDF (Rapid Deployment Forces) was white southern males in the 80’s. Now, this country can kiss my arse.

Army aviation officers are a joke and don't get much flight time...that goes to the Warrant Officers. The officers in Army Aviation are mainly staff pukes.
