Sources: The #Lions are receiving trade calls on running back D’Andre Swift, whose representatives have been in contact with the team about potentially moving to a new team. With Detroit drafting Jahmyr Gibbs, the talented Swift appears poised to leave Detroit.

He shouldn’t have much value, as he’s always hurt, but some dipshit GM will grab him.

I don't understand this at all. It's a perfect pairing. Swift will be awesome for 4-6 games before he gets hurt and that will buy time for Gibbs to get acclimated, then Gibbs will take over.

The Lions are going to replace Jamaal Williams and D'Andre Swift with David Montgomery and a rookie they reached on.

Lions will Lions I guess

I mean Detroit has 3 2nd round picks.

Unless they're gonna trade 2nd + Swift - future 1st?

The Lions aren’t afraid to use an early round pick on a running back.

2015: Ameer Abdullah drafted in the second round.

2018: Kerryon Johnson drafted in the second round.
- Abdullah waived during the season.

2020: D’Andre Swift drafted in the second round.
- Johnson was waived in the offseason.

They’ve been using a valuable second round pick every 2-3 years on a RB. That RB disappoints, so they use another early pick on a replacement. Swift is gone after this season. He’s been productive when healthy, and the Lions used the 35th pick on him just three years ago. They want to get something in return for him instead of just letting him walk out the door nine months from now when his contract expires.

They need to find a trade for a decent vet in a position of need.
