Thrashin' by a mile.

Multiple cameos/stunt doubling by Tony Hawk, Tony Alva, Christian Hosoi, Steve Cabellero, and Per Willander. Plus Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Movie would have been even better if David Winters had been able to use his first choice of casting and had Johnny Depp as Tommy.

'You gleam it, man.'

Featuring Christian Slater and Mark 'Gator' Ragowski, who was sent to jail for life for murdering his girlfriend and burying her on the beach in a surf board bag.

It's a classic.

Damn this thread brings back some memories. Rad and The Dirt Bike Kid were my two faves as a kid.

No love for BMX Bandits (1983) featuring Nicole Kidman?

No lie, have to go Rad here.

Was that the rollerblade movie?. If so, I loved that one too

Airborne is the better movie but is it about hockey, rollerblading or surfing dude? That fish out of water story can be watched any decade.

But Rad is totally rad because its a time machine on all fronts: topic, pop culture and that unmistakable 80s characteristic.

Airborne could just be on and pass as another Saturday afternoon movie...probably impossible to watch Rad today but for museum-quality nostalgia.

As someone who had never seen either movie until a couple of years ago - Rad. Easily. Dare I say it's also better than the first Karate Kid movie.
