Ole Miss is throwing their best on Saturday. Let’s not burn Skenes with a likely rain delayed Friday….

Not gonnal lie, losing Skenes because of a weather delay scares the shite out of me. But if only because the opponenet saves their ace until Saturday, not so much.

No. You are overthinking this. If we play tomorrow, you start skenes for a myriad of reasons

Not if weather causes him to only pitch to 5 batters.

That not really a realistic scenario, so not worth worrying about

Ole Miss is not a good team. LSU should win the series even if Skenes doesn’t pitch. If they don’t they aren’t the team we think they are.

He had a game where he only pitched to 9 batters.

So anyone DVing wants to see Skenes burned after 3 innings like at USCe? It’s gonna rain…..and Ole Miss has already pulled “bad field” BS 2 times this year to walk away from a Loss…..

If their as bad as their record indicates…..save Paul for a guaranteed full start on Saturday is all I’m saying

I certainly understand the thinking after what happened at USC, but IMO no need to over-complicate things. We should go with our regular plan, and stick with it. We’re better than Ole Miss and even in the unlikely event we have another USCe weather situation we need to figure out a way to win and move on toGame2.

We’re not gonna change our plan due to weather. Even if Skenes doesn’t pitch all weekend, I want a series win from LSU, no reason to be scared of weather….let’s play and win no matter who pitches or how many weather delays there are. Quite frankly, in the event of weather craziness, I want to see some of our other pitchers step up anyway…we already know what we’ve got with Skenes

I think it’s a moot point anyway and only interesting for fan discussion, because Skenes will be pitching every Game1 we play except Game1 of regionals.

It’s gonna rain…… don’t burn your stud with possible delays that puts him on the bench all weekend.

Hell start Little and see what the weather is gonna do….

If it was a huge series to win the conference or national title or something, maybe…..Maybe.

But just a regular season series at a bottom of the standings team, I don’t think there’s any reason to mess with your Ace’s schedule.

Don’t misunderstand me, I completely understand the thinking….especially after USC. I just disagree with trying to predict the weather as it relates to Skenes….not necessary IMO. Skenes or no Skenes, we need to win this series… and if we don’t, we’ve got bigger worries.

If he only pitches to 5 batters would he not be available Sunday if only a relief roll for an inning or two?

Also, no matter which day the Pisser's throw their best pitcher he still has to face our line up. While I understand that having a shut down pitcher is crucial, if our guys don't hit it doesn't matter who is pitching.

I think some of yall are over thinking this simple game of baseball.

Are you forgetting last year? Ole Miss had one foot in the grave then, too. And that was here, this time it's at their place.

One thing about LSU being so highly regarded- taking a game from us is an accomplishment. If they take the series, they still have life.
Note, after us they have Georgia, at Mizzou, Auburn, at Alabama. So we're the last tough series, then it's teams basically at their level. If they take our series, then 13-14 wins in conference is attainable; and that may get them into a regional.

He only pitched to 9 against SC. And we didn't see him again. And even if possible, if he were to pitch on a Sunday, now next Friday is only on 5 days rest. So don't look for that.

Unfortunately, this is incorrect. I agree with you 100%, but every regional LSU has ever been in, they have thrown their ace in game 1. It pisses me off, but it's fact. So yeah, when 1 seed LSU plays 4 seed UCCCLFFGF in game 1 of our regional this year, it will be Skenes starting.

Sure, let's just arbitrarily frick the best pitcher in the country's schedule up and have him go on a day of less rest next week. Solid plan.
