69 pts, 18 rbs, 6 assts, 4 stls, 1 blk

“I didn’t think about being tired because I wanted to win the game,” Jordan said after playing 50 minutes. “I’ve been in that situation where I’ve scored a lot of points and we lost, and I didn’t want that to happen.

“So I kept pushing myself, kept talking to myself, saying, ‘Don’t stop, don’t stop. Keep going.’ You feel better about the effort when you win.”

yeah 1 on 1 defense was better in the 90s but team defense was nonexistant. Even that pic is dangerously close to illegal defense in the 90s

He's saying this game had to have been more than 23 years ago. 23 years ago was 2000, when Jordan was retired

Edit: 33 years ago

Yeah people have a nostalgia but clearly don't watch old games on Youtube. There's a reason the NBA was on the verge of death in the early 00s.

It wasn't even just the rules. The coaches were developing that late Riley/Van Gundy style of "running out the clock" on offense. Just slow pace and not even trying on offense until the shot clock was like 10-12 seconds.

This notion that modern players couldn't do well with the 1-on-1 defense is just hilarious.

Cool. Now extrapolate 5 extra seasons of Jordan's averages in all 3 categories (3 for his time at UNC; LeBitch didn't go to college, 1 for his missed year with a broken foot and 1 for his first retirement).

Now let's compare.

So MJ was near
40 and put up that stat line??? I’d like to see Lebron do that……,NOT gonna happen.

So you're just gonna ignore the fact that Lebron has played in 350 more games than MJ? That's a difference of 4+ seasons
