Mallory and Peveto should step down

And save Miles from having to fire them. I don't know what kind of egos these guys have, but it would be the honorable thing to do.
I'm not even sure that Miles will make a change. He doesn't seem to realize how bad this defense is underachieving.

We still have a season to play. A change will be made after the season is over.

He's also very loyal to his staff which will make it difficult for him.

Yes, these guys just haven't been able to get the job done. I can't think of another SEC team that plays as poorly on defense as LSU.
This free fall started in the 2nd half against SCarolina last year and the bleeding really hasn't stopped since then.
We really need to give our players a fresh start and a fresh view from a fresh DC.

I had no idea how bad things were on the team till a couple weeks ago. The players are very unhappy with the schemes and have no confidence in Malleveto.
I heard rumblings that Earl Lane is unhappy also.
10th game of the season and the calls were still getting in very late, frustrating the players

so much of talent.
peveto is a joke..whatever he touches turns bad..
look at special teams last year

Dinardo was loyal to his staff and we know how that story ended.

yea its gotten pretty bad. I think Les knows he has to do something

By step down, do you mean STOP RECRUITING and STOP as POSITION COACHES ?
Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.
Les will reassign these very competent POSITION coaches and GREAT recruiters in the off-season.
And hire a new proven D coordinator.
Sit tight.

Which is why they need to step down and not take advantage of his loyalty. They need to show some character.

He's not going to come out and say this defense sucks and his coordinators can't coach public.
That's bad public relations, to say the least. What Les thinks and what he says can be two greatly different views.

I have a hard time using the word Great with either of the DC's. Why would you cap lock on the word GREAT? Have you seen our D?

I could see peveto accepting a demotion, but I'd think if a move is made mallory is gone

He goes out in public and call out players for making mistakes. I think 50 year old coaches can handle criticism better than 19 year old college kids.
And I'm not calling for their heads this week, but after the bowl game.

Well, he's not going to come out and hang them out to dry in the not-so-subtle way fans would like to see him do to assure them/you he is dissatisfied with the defense.

Doesn't matter.

I really cant imagine there wont be a change at the top for DC. If there isnt, my entire opinion of Miles will change...and not for the better.
If he hasnt already been putting feelers out to guys like Dick Bumpas at TCU, then I would be disappointed.

As poorly as the D played in the first half the offense was just as bad. That is the thing that frustrates me the most in the Miles regime. Why does the team get outplayed in the first half of so many games? It seems like the team chronically plays from behind with little exception, even in successful years, ie BCS bowl game seasons and SEC wins. What do the coaches do during practice leading up to the games? I don't see this problem with any other SEC teams, it is like the players get on the field on game day and are totally unprepared for what the opponent does, it drives me crazy. It might work against teams which one has a talent advantage, but not against evenly matched or in an underdog role. The Co-D's have to go, they have proven nothing this season other than showing how to get blown out in the first half.

They are so Bad! It's Miles fault as well... He made the choice of Co-DC's... Now make changes!
