I’ll be glad when the Zion Saga is someone else’s problem

This has been the case for way too long. I know it’s hard to walk away from a generational talent, but the writing has been on the wall since before we drafted him.

He's going to become a top 5 player in the league when he leaves us. Partly because he will naturally mature, but also he will play for an organization that isn't a total dumpster fire.

You know it's going to happen.

It’s a hard truth. Doesn’t mean we don’t have the pieces to build upon. Trae Young and a center makes us force.

I actually am optimistic. I’d trade Zion straight up for Young.

He’s gonna either eat his way out of the league quickly or bounce back and have 5-6 stellar years. Unlikely the stellar years happen here, just too much baggage and only a change in environment would shock him into attention, get him away from his entourage, etc. Hate to say it but I’m looking to trade as a hedge.

I don’t think his body will allow this to happen. He will be severely limited.

This thread getting bumped is wild as hell and it shows how much my opinion has changed (or how much of a hypocrite I am) in a year, because I'm telling people in threads now that Zion being a lazy oaf isn't on the Pels as much as it is on Zion.

I guess maybe last year I thought he would mature with age, but now I just think he's a lost cause and will have the mindset of a spoiled child for the foreseeable future.
