Just a two-day trip for the anniversary. Interested in things to do during the day and recs for restaurants/bars/nightlife. Thanks!

My hometown.
Lots of boutique type hotels in the Historic District to choose from. Cotton Sail seems to be popular. Rooftop bars are being added and The Grey gets good reviews for food.
Take the walking tour of the squares and visit Bonaventure Cemetery for daytime things to do. Fort Pulaski and Tybee Island are about 30-40 minutes from downtown.

Get a reservation at Pink House and Alligator Soul. We did a ghost tour pub crawl which was fun and a better to experience the city than say the hopon/hopff bus that I know several people will recommend.

Agree with the ghost pub crawl. That was fun. We stayed in a hotel on the river and was convenient to everything. My favorite experience was running the city first thing in the morning and getting to experience all the little parks by myself.

Crystal Beer Parlor: first night supper. Good selection of beers, knowledgeable waitstaff and excellent food. I had duck wings - very good.
Grey Market for breakfast. Not very large, but unusal foods. I had the biscuits with gravy and eggs. We're certain to return.
Old Town Trolley Tour: Some had suggested to skip this, but we found it enjoyable. We got off at a couple of stops and then hopped back on later. One stop was Forsyth Park (one of twenty two parks in Savannah). Hamburger at the park cafe was only okay. Small beer selection, but did have a good Spaten Oktoberfest.
Thompson Hotel Roof Top Bar. Good view of the river. Fascinating to watch these hugh container ships pass close by.
Common Thread Restaurant. Upscale (meaning expensive). Food was good and service excellent. Very good oysters on the half-shell (you won't believe what they charge for raw oysters these days - only ordered three, but the habenero sauce was out of this world).

I second the Olde Pink House for a fancy dinner, make reservations well in advance.
I also enjoy the hop-on hop-off trolley.
I also enjoy the walking ghost tours.
Savannah allows open containers like the French Quarter so you can get beers to-go at any of the bars or restaurants.
Local secret- bring mosquito repellent. Not an issue in the day but mornings and evenings the squares are packed with them.
Savannah is similar to NYC and other places in that pretty much every eatery is pretty good, because there's so much competition that anything subpar doesn't last very long.

If you can’t get into the Pink House, wait in line and go to the bar in the basement there. You can eat the same food and the atmosphere is great. Very dark and romantic.

Lots of good rooftop bars along the river. Electric Moon, Bar Julian, Cotton Sail hotel,Bohemian hotel, etc.
We like brunch at Husk. Ordinary Pub, Treylor Park, Collins Quarter are some more casual dining options.

I had the best Chinese Food I've ever had in Savannah. It's called Flock to the Wok. It's on Whitaker Street and has a really cool basement bar, which is called a different name. Anyway, we had it for lunch and it was amazing.
If you like Chinese food, you gotta check it out.

Two tides brewing puts out some amazing beers. It’s walking distance from downtown.

Bonaventure Cemetery
Colonial Park Cemetery downtown I like better, every grave is older than 1853 because that's when they shut it down to new burials. And many if not all of those above-ground crypts were busted open and desecrated for Sherman's troops to quarter when they came through. Also, after 1853 when the cemetery used to be much much larger but still filled up, development was built on top of much of it. But they only moved the headstones...
All those sunken lumpy bumps in the sidewalks around Colonial are sunken graves.
