Back in the day you'd just peep through a hole and then stick your tallywhacker through it only to have it grabbed by the meanest and most butch PE teacher in all the land, good ole Beulah Balbricker.

Question: would a charge like that follow the kid around as an adult? Would he have to remain a registered sex offender the rest of his life?

The punishment definitely wouldn't fit the crime if that were the case?

I think there a ton of variables for crimes like this to follow you around as an adult, but for the most part I don't think they do.

Wut? Filming naked kids is like a top 3 definition of sex offender.

But if the offender is 12 I doubt they throw the book at him.

May be but let's use common sense. It's a kid filming other kids of a like age. Could turn out the kid is a predator but this alone doesn't make him so. It would be an injustice if this hung with him for life without something else to back it up.

Tough year or so at Galvez. Wasn’t this the same school with the pedo teacher sending pics of kids to the pedi custodian or something?

ETA: sure was….yikes, would have to pull my kid after this

Maybe, but to say the punishment doesn't fit the crime is a bit silly IMO.

I think the only thing that will save the offender is his age. If he is over 16 he is probably toast for filming middle school girls. If he is middle school age I am sure they will scare the crap out of him and then let him go to another school.

I have to wonder how he gained entry into the girl's locker room.

I would hope the kid would get a little understanding. I dont advise it, I would be furious if my kid did it, I understand everyone freaking out...but he is a pretty young kid, at the end of the day no one was really harmed I would hope.

Now, if he was sharing the photos, using them to black mail, or just being a douche about it I would want a harsher punishment. If he was trying to see naked girls, although ill advised, I would cut him a little slack.
