Thanks for at least reading the stats. Many here are like ostriches and bury their heads in the sand.

Stats aside, what solutions are you offering?

You are continually bringing up England. What did they do in England?

I'm sure you're the type who would agree to banning the production of ammunition in this country then turn around with a straight face and say you're not "banning guns".

A thought on gun control. My belief is that in a perfect world, none of us would have guns. I wish that guns were never invented. I wish it was never mass produced. I wish the average everyday citizen could not have them, in a perfect world.

But we dont live in a perfect world. Are world is fricked. Even if we were to do a complete gun ban. Citizens can no longer buy any type of guns, ammunition, etc. At this point, people already own a shitload of firearms, ammo, etc. Criminals would be free to break into anybody's house they wanted, and homeowners wouldn't be able to defend. Criminals could go shoot up any place they wanted just for the sake of unloading, and citizens would be at their mercy.

There's too many bad people with guns already. You could ban all guns. Now we have anarchy, with our only line of defense are police officers. Which let's face it, the Nashville officers here were amazing, but most departments are either inept, corrupt, or both.

In a perfect world, I would have no need to own a gun. But that's not the case. This world is far from perfect. In the world we live in, I'd much rather own one.

Nonsense. Both "assault rifle" and "assault weapon" have agreed-upon definitions, and we're not going to convince anyone with terminology.

It isn't about convincing anyone. It's about denying them their narratives.

People who refer to "assault weapons" also use idiotic phrasing like "weapons of war" and "common sense gun safety." These are the people who think pistol braces convert semi-automatic rifles to one of those nasty "high caliber, automatic assault weapons of war."

Then why have you been carrying on for a half dozen pages crying about what the UK did if you know it won't work? What the UK did will make the US more dangerous. This is not arguable. It will cut down on gun deaths, but increase every other violent crime category just like it did in every other country that banned handguns and firearms.

Reading is hard.

England had a problem. They dealt with it and it worked.

We have a problem and do nothing.

We are a nation of uncivilized, savage people. On one side you’ve got mentally deranged people with unlimited access to guns. On the other side is a group of people that get a hard-on about the thought of killing a criminal. Everyone wants to shoot everyone.

Imagine a movie theatre with 100 armed individuals. A fight breaks out, guns are drawn, and all of a sudden you have the OK Corral. Not what I call civilized and not the country I want to live in.

I'll bite on your shiny progressive hook. Between 1967 and 1996, there were THREE, frickING THREE, mass School shootings in the UK.

What they did worked because it wasn't a problem to begin with. We have a culture and morality problem. You also continue to try to compare more homogenous countries to the USA.

Do automobiles next. If we didn’t have those, nobody would ever die in car accidents

Why?

Guns are amazing tools for freedom, self-defense, hunting, and recreation.

If you're wishing something away, just wish away violence.

He closed the door when he made the disingenuous statement of "I didn't say I wanted to ban anything"

Well, I mean he closed the door way before that with his assinine statements, but my point stands.
