Recently got my first electric guitar and need a teacher to learn some basic rock/blues riffs/power cords/etc. I am decent on acoustic with the basic chords and rhythms. Appreciate any advice you pros have.

Most of the city's guitar/bass/fretted teachers and school sites are on my workshop client roster. If you call me during business hours, I can offer you some prime candidates based on your age, skill level, preferred genre, etc.

I don't know if Cam is taking students right now, but he's a superb all ages, all genres teacher and just a great guy. If you want to learn off and for songs, he is a walking jukebox for every popular genre. We've been friends about 40 years now. Love him like a brother.

Tim is a Carondelet pickups artist, I love him like a surrogate son, and he is in my opinion one of the best all around players in the state and the guy I'd hire if I ever took lessons to expand my old and rutted player horizons. If you want a long-term teacher who you will never outpace or outgrow, Tim is the guy.

I’ve been considering offering lessons to beginners and lower intermediates, particularly those interested in songwriting.

Barry was my first teacher many, many years ago. I really enjoyed learning with him. He set me on the path of getting my degree in Classical Guitar. But the OP is looking for electric lessons it would seem. Does Barry teach electric?

Any suggestions for a 9-year old just getting started on acoustic? He’s actually had some lessons at school for the last 3 years so he knows the basics but is still very much a beginner. I will add that he has a good attitude and is very teachable.

Feel like driving to Alabama? I've got a friend who is so good at teaching kids. He's got a gift.
I'm in his shop a lot and I listen when he's got a lesson going on, and I'll hear the same kids, maybe every 3 months or so. He keeps them progressing noticeably, and interested.

There is a definite void for that. Good thinking and good luck.
