According to the source, these militants received training at Washington’s eastern Al-Tanf occupation base, and were given military and logistical support to carry out recent attacks against civilians, truffle harvesters, shepherds, commercial convoys, and Syrian army positions

The source goes on to say that active US support for ISIS in these areas is being given in order to “fill the media” with headlines relating to the extremist group’s presence in Syria, thereby ‘legitimizing’ the continued presence of the US military in the country.

Not too long ago I would have laughed this off as nonsense. Now, I'm merely slightly skeptical

Do you live under a rock? John McCain would meet with these people regularly.

Yea i guess people forget. But it was news the US helped secure their escape by the thousand from different prisons many years ago. Then they were armed with the Bengazi weapons. Been using them as proxy forces against Syria, while the US steals their oil with their invasion force. But you wont hear too many fricks to be given by the hypocrites on the OT board.

Isn't Syria a "sovereign" nation?

I trust this source about as much as the FBI.

For the past few years, the only remaining pockets of ISIS has been in Russian/Syrian controlled area, since the SAA is too weak to do anything about them.

No shite. Hence a disinfo story to discredit US efforts in the region. Russia and the Asad regime don't like at Tanf and what the US is doing there.
