That is the best argument for this series I have heard. Not many others make sense to me.
It’s a cool trip to college station so people will travel from La to go as well as local alumni/supporters in Tx

I wouldn't mind seeing Texas as part of the 3, just to finally show them what Death Valley is really all about. They, along with OU will lobby to keep this from happening.

I wish we could have Ole Miss,Florida, and Auburn as our permanent. Until Saban came to Bama those were the 3 teams that I looked forward to playing every single year. Texas A&M fruit cakes don’t deserve to get to play us every year. They need to go play their butt buddies Oklahoma,Texas, and Arkansas every year

Agree about OU UF not making much sense but we used to play A&M every year. We’re neighboring states and maybe the closest SEC team geographically. Hard to say A&M shouldn’t be an LSU permanent.
Using this logic, we should be playing UT every year. Just because we are the western most SEC school doesnt mean we should play all the new comers and lose our tradition.

That makes a lot of sense

For Bama, that’s Auburn. If Alabama then thinks Tennessee is borderline top half, then they need to be willing to surrender that rivalry to get an easier slate
If Bama is to only have 2 of 3 of Auburn, Tenn, and LSU as permanent opponents, there is no way in hell LSU isn't getting dropped. I can guarantee you they aren't doing the Iron Bowl or 3rd Saturday in October every other year.
I have no idea who would replace them under the proposed schedule leaked this week, but I guess we end up with Ole Miss, A&M, and one of State, Texas, OU, or Florida.

But the two fan bases interact way more than Florida and Oklahoma. This has to do with A&M thinking they’re above playing a former conference opponent. Why do you think they shot down the Missouri series after only playing it one year?
The only connection between A&M and Oklahoma comes from the 16 years in the marriage of convenience that was the Big 12. A&M was quick to leave as soon as they had an opportunity. Take away those years and LSU has more history with A&M than Florida and A&M and Oklahoma have nothing.
This is about finding arrangements that work best for everyone. Oklahoma isn’t going to care in this situation. You may not agree with it, but LSU and A&M both would prefer to maintain that rivalry. In general I think Florida fans care less about LSU than vice versa. They lose a little in this, but not much. LSU-A&M and Florida-Oklahoma gives the most schools their preferred option.
And, yes, this benefits A&M most. That’s not necessarily a bad thing given they are the school losing the most from Texas and Oklahoma entering the conference in the first place.

We don't actually know who is getting whom yet.
I know it’s not official but I think Ross Dellenger might know what he’s talking about. That’s why I’m hoping if LSU pushes back hard enough, they’ll get Florida instead of A&M. But for all we know, Florida could be the one saying they don’t want LSU.

I get that from Bama’s perspective that is what they would prefer, but Bama doesn’t get to dictate this. It’s going to be voted on by the member institutions. My point is that if Bama wants to lighten their load, then they are going to have to sacrifice Tennessee to get it. I agree they aren’t likely to do that, but they cannot complain that their permanent opponents are unfair when it is by their choice. They don’t get to duck the other top 6 programs just because they want to hold onto Auburn and Tennessee. LSU would love holding onto both Mississippi schools too.

I know you A&M haters truly believe this, but the most likely explanation for LSU being paired with A&M is that it is what LSU wants too.
