Gotta be the Yotes.
Their situation is an absolute shite show.
I know Bettman loves them but eventually you have to cut your losses.
That's who he should of moved to Winnipeg instead of the Thrashers. They were more of a shite show than the Thrashers were and the Thrashers were a shitshow.
The only reason the Thrashers left had everything to do w/ownership, not attendance. That was fine, it could of been better but that wasn't the problem.

Atlanta, what a joke. They’ve already lost 2 teams. Only the Braves get support there.

Alpharetta (which I believe is happening anyway) and building the arena there. That would be in an area full of potential season ticket holders.
Full of northerners to be sure.
Attendance would be good. Atlanta would get shite on because most of the fans would be for the opposition.

I remember when the Tom Wolfe novel "A Man in Full" had a scenario where having built a office tower in Cherokee County was just a complete disaster.
It was just a decade or two too soon.

The Thrashers didn't leave over attendance.
It was due to shitty ownership.

Who is the other?
I highly doubt the NHL wants to expand past the current 32 number.
I'd hate to see Edmonton lose its team, but if they moved to Houston, the melt from the Adams clan would be awesome.

The Yotes actually don’t make sense for any move to a new stadium that isn’t built yet. Tempe is voting on the new Arena in two months. Any arena built new in Atlanta is going to have to go through the same exact bureaucratic process and it would be years including construction. Tempe approves the Arena and the situations are identical.
And if the argument is they can play where they used too, it’s alot easier to move back to Glendale than Atlanta.
Meanwhile expansion to Atlanta and Houston (and those wonderful expansion fees that go to the other owners who actually make these decisions) makes a hell of a lot more sense.

It would probably work in “Atlanta” if they built an arena up north in the white part of the suburbs.

That's exactly where they are planning on putting it.
Alpharetta.
Alpharetta.

The new arena won't be in Atlanta. It'll be in Alpharetta, 15 miles due north of downtown Atlanta.

Yea that wasn’t meant to be a shot at the panthers or anything. I’m just not sure who’d they’d target to move.

Funny how teams are moving back to the suburbs after there was a push to move teams out to the suburbs years and years ago. Then a lot of those failed and the push was to move teams back into downtowns for the fan amenities. And now teams are moving back to the suburbs because fans don’t want to go to downtown shite holes to watch games anymore.

I think it should be a case by case, not one fits all. I hate the whole "every stadium should be in this situation" etc.

Without looking at the statistics, it probably corresponds to the crime rate.

And why not pray tell?
Rangers, Black Hawks and even Stars fans would turn out.
Just like Falcons games.
But you are a Steelers fan so you likely don’t notice.

Roswell, Sandy Springs or Dunwoody would be much better and convenient than Alpharetta.

Roswell butts up against Alph so not much difference.
There is no land in SS or Dunwoody and the traffic would be a shitshow.
