I don’t drive a F150, but this is just a stupid comment. Ford was the first to bring innovation to the Tailgate space, many years ago with the “man step” seen above. Then GM came behind with the steps on both sides of bumper, which was a good solution too. Then GM came out with the over complicated “multi-pro tailgate” thing. I laugh every time I see someone try to use that thing.

But but, you can put a laptop on it

A friend of mine’s Avalanche had bumper steps. I think it was made in 1999 or 2000. So I think the bumper steps came first.
