There are a lot of reasons why I wouldn't want to go to the Cotton Bowl but the main one is that it being played in the middle of the day on a day where most people are scheduled to work. Why did they move this game off of Jan 1st?

a) It is on a Friday.

b) January 2nd, 2009 will mark the final AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic played in Cotton Bowl Stadium.

just 2 possibilities...
likely a combination of the 2.

BTW, they just did about $ 50 MM of restoration to it.

You are crazy if you don't want to go see the Tigers play in Texas. I live in Austin and I am more than willing to take a day off and drive up to Dallas to see my Tigers play! Friday at 1 PM is a lot better than a 11 AM game. However, I do understand what you mean about the game not being played on New Year's Day. I am afraid the days of all the big bowl games being played on New Year's day is a thing of the past.

I would think most people don't have to work that day, or have the ability to take it off. Even if it wasn't a holiday for me, I would most certainly take the day off.

Because they got tired of Nielsen ratings that show people changing the channel as soon as there is another game to be seen, aka during the 2nd quarter over to the Outback Bowl, Cap-One Bowl,etc..

Because people hate sitting in the freezing windswept plains of Dallas at 10AM..

Because even the fans of the teams in the game, hate being on the road and traveling back from the game, when the Rose and Orange are on..

Etc..
