Well it can’t be Coop, cause now we know why he was so good in practice; we can’t hit lefties

Still not throwing enough off speed.Floyd’s fastball can get him one time through the order. I say Little should start. Cooper to the pin.

Ty Floyd yesterday was the same Ty Floyd we have seen for the last 2 years. Plain and Simple you cant just throw straight fastballs all day long in the SEC. His fastball is electric and looks like a BB coming out of his hand but until he starts using that changeup he will be very limited against top notch competition.

Cooper isn’t a starting pitcher. He is a good change of pace guy coming in to relieve a RHP. JJ needs to experiment more with the rotation but I know he is dying to have a LH starter.

It should be skenes (obviously), Floyd, and Hurd (i believe he’ll figure it out and be dominant again)

I get Jay saying coop and shores performed great in preseason scrimmages and thus giving them a chance. But Cooper isn’t a weekend starter, and that was true even after his 0 hit/run performance last week. Lot of balls, behind in counts, and nothing he throws fools anyone.

Floyd should be starting. I understand why little wasn’t to start, bc he did struggle in preseason. But IN season, he’s be Great!

Give Little and Floyd Saturday and Sunday l. If Hurd puts it together, give him a shot, but this Cooper thing needs to stop. He’s a reliever

I think Little has proved himself so far, to be considered for the Saturday starts!

This was a situation last year as well. Watch Dylan Crews when he swings and breaking balls that are by his back foot. His hole is that part of the zone.

Cooper is just keeping the Saturday seat warm for what I think will prob be Hurd or Little.

However, Little’s numbers out of the bullpen vs as a starter the last two seasons are night & day. Dude has been filthy as a RP. Might not want to tinker

I agree but it’s tough to watch his dominant’stuff’ and appearances so far and not give him a start.

Little and Floyd should be Saturday/Sunday unless Hurd figures it out. But the bottom line is this team ISNT going where they want to go if their #2 pitcher is Cooper and what he brings. He’s not good enough and again, that’s not based on today but his ‘stuff’.

I think Floyd is better out of the pen until he starts throwing more consistent off speed. He is not there yet. You can not be a SEC starter with one pitch. It is between Hurd and Little and send Cooper back to the pen. If Floyd starts throwing his off speed more and it is consistent I could maybe agree. Jay also likes one of his best pitchers in the pen and he is good for that to get once through the line up.:

Regardless who he tries to fill these spots with starting Cooper back to back Saturdays are wasted opportunities. They’re pointless, it’s weird that he’s doing this.

Skenes, Hurd, and Shores has always been the plan. Little is better as a reliever, for now. I didn’t think he would be, but Floyd looks good in relief. Cooper is a reliever.

ETA: I don’t mind them trying some different things. Extending Cooper, working Hurd in slowly/strategically, looking at Little and Floyd as relievers, etc will pay off down the road.
