Those who beg for money for themselves almost never deserve it.
But those who can't or won't ask for help, sometimes someone, a good someone, a stranger almost, has to step in and say "well, it's not much but I'd like to do what I can."
And those causes are more often than not, worthy.
Also, selflessness in yourself can help spur that same selflessness in others. Many hands make quick work.

I saw a post about 6 weeks ago by him. He needed work. ( read - willing to work.)
He said he was trying to survive feeding himself and his dogs. The man is trying.

Oh I'm well aware of that and wasn't casting aspersions.
You hard nosed, opinionated, uncouth, non-PC bastards (present company included) show your true colors when the chips are down and people need help.
During the floods and hurricanes I've seen complete strangers offer to drop everything and lend a hand. Or an ear.
Just having somewhere to vent is important. This place has more power than many know. For good or ill. Many talents, many experiences, many people from many walks of life.
