The happier and more at peace I have become. Occasionally I glance through this board, and no doubt things aren't right. But this world has always had its problems, and there has always been the struggle between good and evil. But really it's all in God's hands. Despite all the troubles in the world we are truly blessed.

Turn off your TV. Find entertainment in more wholesome, natural ways and your life comes in sync.

Must be nice to stop caring. (I don't type that as an attack btw)

Great for the individual, terrible for our future if we all did that. The powers that want your freedoms would love us not to care.

It's true that the world has always been messed up, and it's also true that we could all gain peace to unplug.

But to take the easy way and lazy way out and say it's all in God's hands doesn't mean he (if he exists at all) doesn't want you to bear the burden of fighting for this human history anomaly we like to call freedom.

God won't magically protect us thru prayer alone, but by action and conviction.

I never fought a war with a rifle, and I've never served our country other than with my labor and taxes. So, I consider it my portion to care, to pay attention, to talk and discourse with people and to do my best to find ways to connect with other citizens that feel differently than I do.

To me, what you're describing is ultimately apathy or some form of quitting by believing you don't make a difference.

Maybe it's just me, but to stop paying attention and unplug is not an option. Even if we can't measure or see how much we as individuals make, it ain't for naught.

(I agree msm is trash tho)

Find myself in the same boat it’s not so much a lack of caring but rather prioritizing, like now I listen to verse by verse ministries 3 times a day instead of political podcasts

Allow me to clarify. Less time does not mean no time. And its not a question of apathy but a question of faith, not only in God, but in people and in what is good in this world, and I believe that good always triumphs over evil. I do serve God and I pray for guidance. I serve my family, raise my children, and serve my community. Through the years my priorities have shifted. That was largely my point. And I also engage in civil discourse, and what I'm finding is more and more folks, regardless of differences, are in agreement that something isn't right with the direction the government is heading. That is promising.

Well…..after the 2020 election debacle we’re they outright stole the election from Trump, I told my wife that we were moving to Puerto Rico to live on our sailboat and forget about the third world banana republic that the USA was turning into!
I figured if we are going to live in a corrupt, banana republic government…..might as well do it in the Caribbean paradise! We sold our house and my business and said frick it!!

I no longer recognize the country I came to in 1984!
It’s unrecognizable thanks to all the woke, liberal bull shite they are inundating us daily in every aspect of our life’s!!

With Lent coming up a lot more people than I seem to remember in past years are giving up on social media and most sources of news/disinformation.

There is always the struggle between being well informed and being bamboozled by most of the nonsense passing for news these days. Most stuff is just noise made by increasingly stupid people.

Perhaps Lent will be just the beginning to a quieter and more introspective world.

Dealing with cancer has taught me that it is imperative to keep the stress down. I basically get a knot in my gut with all this bullshite and no one should have that.

It’s hard to stay informed without getting worked up.
