How would you expect Trump to go after a political opponent? Someone he viewed as an ally that now seems to be positioning himself to go after the same office Trump is vying for. He’s using the exact same tactic that worked for him in 2016 with R’s that opposed him only difference is that now he’s triggering Desantis supporters rather than Rubio, Cruz, or Bush supporters.

It's not that he's simply going after a political opponent, it's that he's incoherent and silly with his hits. It's not hurting Desantis, it's hurting himself. All of this energy should be going against the enemy.

It’s not at all the same tactic since Desantis has not announced he’s running and probably isn’t. There’s no need for friendly fire at this time, but of course Trump just can’t help himself.
It’s the precise reason why Trump has made himself unelectable…and he’s doubling, and tripling down.
