This is the most disappointed I have been about a game in a long time. Yes I know its EA. But I thought that they were going to build on the foundation of KSP1.
The flight widgets look horrible, the menu's are rough. The water is horrible. Flights hiccup during stages etc. I don't feel they should have released it as it is. Diehard fans will be disappointed.

That’s what happens when corpo sponsors a passion project. The projects becomes a product. And investors become impatient.
I have faith that the development team will get this game to where they want it to be. But that’s a few years minimum down the road. I purchased it, installed it just to do a Mun landing and then uninstalled for now. I will reinstall in about a year or so (or when career mode is added). I knew what the early access was going to be before I purchased so I wasn’t disappointed. I consider it an investment and hope my one transaction adds to a large enough pool for the investors to not pull their money out of this.
It was released extremely prematurely. Its current state is more of a tech demo where you need the latest hardware for it to even be playable.
Your best option if you’re excited for this game is to get the original KSP, CKAN mod manager, find a good mod list online and just fire it up with texture mods. The mod list is enough to hold you over until KSP2 is ready. And hopefully by then KSP2’s mod catalog is filling out.
With the aid of mods you can make KSP look almost as good as KSP2. Plus add the gas giants, and other planets/systems.
I’ve played on/off for a few years now and the most complex thing I’ve done is a Duna (Mars) landing (no return ). and it felt so rewarding to just see my craft sitting safely on the surface.
The release of KSP2 made me wanna fire KSP up again after about a year or not playing. So I’m starting a new save from scratch and relearning the game.
If anyone’s even the slightest bit interested in space/rockets, I can’t recommend this game (the original) enough.
