That's the point. She has chosen for the kid. It's ok for there to be feminine boys and masculine girls. It doesn't mean they have to BE transitioned. Because that's what has happened. This has been forced upon a child that isn't old enough to know. A three-year old isn't old enough to choose this. And honestly at 18 months or 2 years kids are just being kids. Anything she saw that suggested "femininity" at that age was the mom's (and I use that term loosely) confirmation bias. And on top of all that she has chosen to make that kid's life public for the world so that she can get attention for herself.

States need to begin categorizing this as abuse no worse than sexual or physical. Children should be taken away from them and parents put behind bars.

Imagine how confused your sister would have been had someone in her life over reacted and did the things that some on this board have called for in the same situation. The kid in question was allowed to explore their own situation at an early age without punishment or reprisal from the 2 most important people on earth to that kid, their parents. SO lets say that kid turns 14 and concludes "I'm a boy"...having done the same thing at 2 and experiencing no ill effects from their parents all of a sudden that kid is going to be confused? How? Where would the confusion stem from? They said they were a girl, no ill side effects. The decide they are in fact a boy and they are confused at that point??? Thats a stretch. Now, had some of the things whihc haave been suggested in this forum taken place that kid woould be very confused....as is they learned that they were loved and cared for no matter what by the 2 people who matter most in a kids life, their parents.

Thats not what this woman said she did...she ignored the behavior for a year or so and when the kid said they were a girl the parents did not over react...they went along with it. A lot of "normal" parents will flat out tell their kids that they are playing with girl/boy toys and will accuse them of being gay at a couple of years of age. Of course that behavior is acceptable but just letting kids develop as they will is not if it does not jibe with a bunch of men on a college football message board LOL.

Because that is all that gender is, by definition, the societal trappings or expectations for one sex or another....the clothes, the activities and the conduct of the individual. It has absolutely nothing to do with biology or physical sex or reproductive organs....it is the societal norms associated with those things. There ain't a sane doctor in the world who would perform surgery on an intact 2 year old because the parents asked them to and had the money to pay. I will gurantee you the number of adults who grow up with serious mental issues because they were taken to church early and often as a child is infinitely larger than the number of adults with mental issues steming from their parents telling them if they want to be a girl they can be a girl......only a cretin would suggest that parents that take their kids to church should be taken to task for abusing their kids but if they were reading and telling them the same stories outside of religion they most certainly would.
