Wife and I took the kids to the one in Vestavia years ago. We left feeling VERY uncomfortable not only with the crowd, but how we were treated by said crowd. Never been back and never will go back.
I live pretty close to that one but have never been. We hav ea little one that is still young for that kind of thing but he's getting close to the age where he might find it fun to go.
What was it about it that was offputting?

Haven't been to one in years, but I was always amazed at the number of people who would bring their kid and then leave. We would often not know the kid or the parents and they wouldn't know us, yet they would just leave. Maybe we were over protective, but if we took our kids to a Chuck E Cheese party, we stayed around to watch and help out.

Can't speak to that one, but the last one I went to it was for my nephew's birthday party. I was helping him with some of the games, and you would have kids literally running everywhere. We tried to play skeeball, and kids were running along the ramps trying to block the balls, kids would steal your ball and throw them in their games, steal your tickets while they're printing, etc. Was challenged to a game of basketball by my brother. As soon as you hit the start button, you are flocked by kids running to grab the balls and shoot for you, then they grab the tickets as they print.
And cannot confirm it but based on the kid to parent ratio for a specific demographic, it appeared that they parents were dropping off their kids then leaving.

The Chuck went downhill fast. Took my kids to one years ago and the little ones running around were trying to steal tickets right out of other kids' hands with their "parents" doing nothing about it.
Basically the same experience.
