Losing USC? Replace them with the team that beat them. Upgrade

That's gonna be brutal travel for everything except football.
Would make a lot more sense to do Big XII. Louisiana is contiguous, New Orleans is perceived as a destination, the XII would gain a recruiting pipeline in a talent rich state, and the university presidents would like adding a top 40 academic institution.

Would also suck for football. Yulman and New Orleans is a great visiting fan destination. Would like to see Tulane in a conference with TCU, Baylor, Memphis, SMU, Houston for visiting tan purposes.

Can you imagine the crowd at a Tulane/Stanford game in Palo Alto?

Big 12 would make more sense, but that current ship sailed a couple of years ago. Big 12 is looking at Western expansion. That's why the PAC-12 is looking to add San Diego St and SMU to improve their chances at getting a new TV deal.

I could be wrong but I think Tulane probably missed out on the Big XII. They’re not going to be looking G5 the next go around.

The pac 12 is done if the big 12 gets Arizona Arizona st Utah and Colorado and if big ten gets Oregon and Washington

I agree. This Cotton Bowl probably came two years too late. But if SMU is going to get invited to the PAC-12, it opens up an opportunity for the Wave with their recent success, current market/recruiting area, and academics.

If LA Tech can be in the WAC, then sure why not

We know that.
Most of the country doesn't.

None of those schools would excite me if I were a PAC fan.

Are we really comparing the Dallas and New Orleans markets?

PAC is probably done and the remaining schools will probably go Mountain West. Maybe Tulane ends up there or they just stay out in the AAC.

Tulane peaking at the right time.

I have it on good authority McNeese was close to going to the WAC too... ended up being a tough decision but ended up staying Southland

Clearly the PAC is in survival mode. Going after SMU and possibly Tulane shows they are very desperate
