Holy shite...that dude is 80! Never realized he was that old when he did those great movies in the 90s.

Interesting fact. One of his ex-wives went to jail for attempted murder in a murder-for-hire plot against her ex-husband who is a Hollywood stuntman.
The dude was shot in the face and lived.

quote:
On May 20, 2000, Haro's ex-husband Garrett Warren, from whom she had recently filed for divorce, was shot four times in the chest, neck, left hip, and right eye by a gunman who arrived at the front door of his Westlake Village, California, apartment. Warren survived the attack, but lost his right eye.[2][3] In December 2005, Haro was arrested on charges related to the crime. She ultimately pleaded no contest to two counts of attempted murder and a principal firearm charge for the attempted murder of Warren and in April 2012 was sentenced to 12 years 4 months in prison.[3] She served her sentence at the California Institution for Women in Chino, California.[4] She was released in August 2019.[citation needed]

Scorsese originally wanted him to play Paulie in Goodfellas because he thought he was too old to play Tommy. Pesci said he called Marty and told him he was playing Tommy. He said they got into a cussing match back and forth. He ended up getting the part.

His best role is in the movie Casino, no doubt.

That's 2nd IMO.
His best role was Vinny. One of the best comedies ever made.

Without him, Home Alone would have been pretty lame.

The real Tommy was in his 20s when he got whacked.
Tommy was also 6'3".

Of course, in spite of being too old and too short, Pesci matched the personality extremely well.

Pesci did have a resemblance to Anthony Spilotro the character he played in Casino.
