Is the Tiger Brass Band in the PMAC a longstanding tradition for LSU basketball?

I love the LSU band. But does the brass band really need to be in the PMAC? All they do is play over the PA system and blare Tiger Rag over and over. LSU needs to get a DJ like every other basketball program in America. (Better than the old one they had a few years ago)
Band kinda kills the student section atmosphere.

It's a serious question though! IS it an actual tradition? If so I get it!

only been a tradition since the early Brown era Before that there was a jazz band make up of teachers and professors that played. Mostly jazz and swing stuff. I think they were called the Court Jesters.

Whats wrong with blaring tiger rag over and over? You actually asking for MORE piped in music? No thanks.

OK mr DJ for hire.

You also in the digital lights business?

Maybe want to diversify in to concessions?

All I know is we could certainly use some posts on those topics.

The band was around when I started going in the late 70s. So yeah, I'd call it a tradition.

Pep band
Deaf dome meter
Mike the Tiger dropping from the rafters
Students on the sideline
Dale Brown going nuts

It was a loud and crazy dome back in the day.

YES. I am 100% advocating for more "Piped in music". Playing tiger rag over and over may have been the rage 20 years ago but it's just not anymore. Students and many of the fans want to hear music they listen to and that fits the style of the game today. Every other legitimate basketball program does it and have great environments.

That sounds incredible! I'd be in favor of all of that.

I don't think you understand how easy it is to hire a DJ. Come to think of it, we could use some better concessions too now that you bring it up...

They need to do a better job of screening the player's Spotify lists before the game first. The Wofford game dropped a few hard Ns. Some poor bastard is gonna get canceled when their kid repeats it one day

Just made your one month Tigerdroppings anniversary and a whopping seven posts. Did the other six suck as bad as this one?

A couple years ago they did have a dj for men’s games.

ETA: and everyone complained about it.

The pep band was formed in about 1966 when Pete was playing, and dr charlie roberts was the director. it was the same year that the song girls, pom pon girls or basketball cheerleaders was formed. Their top hit, when LSU warmed up was the harlem globetrotters theme sweet georgia brown. How do I know this, cause I was there
