Where does LSU rank as a football program, say in the last decade? Take the "blue bloods" term from college basketball. LSU is probably top 5 right? Guys want to come to LSU for football. LSU baseball arguably leads the pack in collegiate baseball. Guys want to come to LSU to play baseball.
LSU got Brian Kelly and Jay Johnson here because of the storied history of the programs. Like the players, coaches want to coach at LSU.
Now where is basketball? It's certainly not on the same podium as football or baseball. Even with how much we all loved Will Wade while he was here, they only broke the top 10 in the AP once. How many guys want to come to LSU for basketball?

This is spot on and why it will be really hard to be a top MBB program in the country. Why is Mulkey getting the players? Because she's a fricking legend and a proven coach and winner, portal and HS players want to play for her. People need to temper their expectations.
You're absolutely right, baseball is one of the top programs, as is football. Football, baseball and WBB can lure top players and coaches from the portal and HS a lot easier than MBB.
