Funny I know a lot of single career women in their 30’s and I can only think of one who I’d consider “desperate” for a man.

Hell, Gwen Stefani is having a baby in her 50’s. Women aren’t nearly as limited as men think we are. Or at least the ones in my circle aren’t.

I didn’t see that coming.

You selected an outlier as your evidence for women not being limited. Gwen Stefani is rich, is a celebrity, and has had access to the best nutrition and fitness experts. Most women in their 50s will not be sexually desirable especially if they’ve adopted the attitude of “not needing no man.”

But on the other hand, I kind of don’t blame women for eschewing marriage and relationships. A lot of men are dipshit, fat losers who think their mere existence warrants a satisfying sex life with a beautiful woman. Just look at how many think Andrew Tate has good things to say.

there are a lot of things possible when you have more money than you can spend. Most normal people, don't want kids later in life due to the financial stress of having them and the energy it takes to keep up. If you can hire nannies to do all the little things involved in a kid and not have the stress of money, then you can do what you want.

I just got a divorce finalized a few weeks ago. She ended up buying my house for a big price cut and I moved into my barn a few miles away because the lawyer told me if I fought her, she would get about 50k from me in court. We owned NOTHING together, she had an affair, and were only married 4 years. No kids together, in fact, she has a kid from another marriage and he doesn't pay child support. Yeah, this is certainly a scary time to get married with not much upside if something goes sideways.

I'm not saying that I'm put off of marriage, I know I married a piece of shite the first time but I will be much more picky for the next time. I hate the ideas of prenups but I now understand them too.

I can’t think of anything worse than having a baby in my 50s even from the dudes perspective. Has to be miserable for the woman, and quite unfair to the kid having a parent in their 70s when entering college.

That’s not a common thing though. And is dangerous as it increases the chances of complications with the baby

Medical care exists to make it possible but your average woman can’t afford it

Let me explain it to you from the medical viewpoint.

What you just described is so far outside the norm that it can’t even be considered an outlier.

It is an outlier of an outlier.

IVF is insanely expensive and not even remotely as successful as people believe.

It is ~55% if you are still in your childbearing age (< 35).

It hits ~25% at 40 years old and tanks to under 10% over the age of 40.

This is exceedingly rare with or without money. Odds are they weren’t her own eggs. I think some of the comments in this thread are silly. I have a career and 3 kids, and my family is doing great. With that said, way too many very intelligent women are clueless about their basic biology. Your odds of spontaneously conceiving drop pretty fast at 35 and nosedive after 40. If you want kids, don’t put it off. There will never be a convenient time to have children. Building a family is the best thing I’ve done in my life. I like having a career, but it’s a distant second. Not everyone is the same, though. But my point is that if you want kids you need to understand your biology and project plan building a family the same way you would your career. I hate the way society lies to young women about basic biological facts. It’s been going on for decades now.
