A few have serious goals, a few .
When I taught in the inner city schools of Beirut Rouge weekly I would talk about their plans after high school. One or two wanted to attend Southern. Many wanted to be a NBA player or NFL. Some wanted to drive a dump truck.
But a lot wanted to be rappers and sling weed on the corner.
They were not interested in quadratic equations, the Missouri Compromise,or the Ransom of Red Chief.
as a whole, society has devalued the importance of education. school age kids these days do not give a frick about their education.

I sympathize with this man. My wife is a teacher and tells me stories like this every week.
This man is about to have his life ruined by a bunch of fat, pale, losers on the internet that don't even know where Shreveport is on the map. And that at the end of the day know he is right. While at the same time, would never ever confront this man in person. They will scream and bitch to the school board and school administration until he is fired. Then he'll be replaced by someone who is a yes man/woman, cowers to children, and teaches them nothing about life or from text books. And they will all pass regardless of putting zero effort into their education.
This is the American Education system in 2023. Entitled students spawned from entitled parents. They expect to show up and pass. Sometimes even less. And they can simply threaten to throw a fit on social media if they don't get what they want. And the school board and school administration will 100% of the time take the side of the entitled student/parents, never the teacher. It is why discipline does not exist.

Sounds like he realized to get their attention, he had to get on their level. I’ll bet there is maybe one person in that room who hasn’t used the words some found offensive.

Have you heard high school students talk? Those are the only words most of them understand or use. You should know your audience. That's one of the rules of effective communications or speech's. He knows his audience. Good for him.

These are things which needed to be said. The real tragedy here is that it took language and irritation like this to get the students to pay attention.

This man needs to be promoted.
Segregation needs to return to the schools. You can have the kids that do not give a shite together learning how to survive in prison and the other kids that actually want to learn in the normal classes.
