I like the effort, but they to go all in with the stars down the side and the leg wrap one leg of the shorts.

Ralph Sampson was ridiculously tall. Made Cook and Mitchell look like kids.

Yay-hey!

This should inspire the Tigers! The last time we wore this uniform vs Tennessee, January 9, 1978, we beat the Vols in the P-MAC 121-87!

It would be a stretch to think LSU can duplicate that effort from 45 years ago, but the history of that uniform alone should inspire these Tigers!

Shades of Howard Carter...Dwayne Scales...Rudy Macklin...Rick Mattick...Jordy Hultberg...I like it!

Give me that on a t-shirt. Don't want to spend that much on a jersey.

Yea, 15,000. The overflow seating downstairs which is now volleyball practice was filled up for the 1978 game vs Kentucky-- MORE than 15,000 tickets were sold for that game!

LSU played its best basketball in the team's history from 1977-1981. I do believe the uniforms may have played a role in the program's success.

Sweet! The Nike version in the OP didn't show that. Best LSU uniforms of all time and some of the best in college basketball history. As a '70s kid, I love the ones from that era.

I can still see Dewayne "The Astronaut" Scales slamming some unreal Sky Dunks in those uniforms.

Only students (I was a Drummer in the LSU Basketball Band in 80 and 81) and fans who were around back then know what LSU Basketball was in the late 70's and early 80's.

There was as much hype and anticipation for big SEC games as there was in football.

Hard to believe, but it's true.

Students camped out for days to get in first. (I.D. got you in)

The Student Section was on the sidelines and it was jam crammed full from the floor all the way to the top

It was a "Happening" man......

Not to mention that we used to pack 15,000 in to the Assembly Center on a regular basis. Those were the good old days.

As much hype and anticipation as football for the big games......and most of the games delivered too.
