Gaetz has been on record saying that it wasn't personal regarding McCarthy and the SotH position, but there were things that they wanted McCarthy to do....
and to McCarthy's credit, he's keeping every promise so far.

McCarthy is still probably a GOPe slimeball that is only allowed so much wiggle room by the intelligence agencies that really run the country...
But he can still try to move as far right or towards freedom within that box as he can.
I'm hoping he keeps his word and ends up being a decent SotH.
