I've stayed there a few times and it is a great location. A short walk to Central Park, 5th Ave., Rockefeller Center/Plaza, Radio City Music Hall, Carnegie Hall, Carnegie Deli, etc. Times Square is about a 15 minute walk. The rooms are tiny.

I liked Midtown West on 57th, just a basic Hilton but loved the location. Short enough walk to Times Square but also avoidable once you get tired of it. Close to multiple subway stops and central park

I’d recommend DON”T stay too close to Times Square. Too many other great places to stay that aren’t near TS. If you need to go to TS, just travel there.

Agreed. Times Square is awful.

Every Thanksgiving we stay at the Conrad Hilton on W. 54th. It's obviously very close to TS. For all the things we want to do in midtown I think its a great location. We have a teenager so the room is split the way we like. The hotel itself is sort of average, not a lot of F&B on property but some fairly chill bars next door and across the street. There's not a lot of reasons to want to stay in Times Square aside from the subway stops but this locale has them too.

We have stayed here for the Macy’s parade. Great location. Directly behind St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Very convenient and nice area.
