Looking at a few options end of May. We’ve done Excellence Playa Mujeres before and had a great time. I found the food to be just okay.
Anyone with experience at Sandals in Antigua? Cruise on Norwegian is an option but really expensive for a tiny room.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I’ve passed by the Sandal’s Antigua on a catamaran. The water isn’t good. It’s very churned up and it almost looks milky. If I’m going to stay in the Caribbean, the water must be awesome

I'm considering Turks and Caicos for later this year. Seems to have good weather, good water, and lots of options.

We went a few years ago. Had a good time, but wasn't our favorite island that we had been to.
Pros
Easy to get to from the US
Some of the best beaches in the Caribbean
English speaking
Good selection of restaurants and bars
Cons
Not a very "pretty" island. Very flat and arid.
Expensive
You drive on the left side of the road (if that matters to you)
Our favorite by far was Grenada. Beautiful beaches. English speaking. Diverse topography (they have waterfalls, lush rain forests0. Good food. Almost went to St. John, but others here love that.

Wife and did Turks last January. Stayed at Wymara in Grace Bay. Highly recommended. Excellent scuba diving as well!

Sandals in Antigua?
Been 10 years since we went for a wedding, but the food sucked

Roatan that time of year is our annual trip. Its a low crowd season and very affordable.

Roatan is nice. I enjoyed my stay at the brisas del mar. Nice small hotel with a good vibe.

Roatan is a great island, my good friend is a tour guide there. Another good friend owns a nice house there.
We have visited Roatan twice on cruises, and my wife wanted to buy a house there.

Roatan
Went down there on a guys trip this past summer. My favorite trip I've ever been on. Scuba diving was amazing. Cheap trip!! Direct flight from Houston got us there around 11:30am. highly recommended!

I’ve been to both Roatan and Turks and Caicos. My wife and I both prefer Turks and Caicos. We stayed at Somerset there.

Any wife is going to prefer Turks as it is more boujee than Roatan.

LSUDad, that link is ‘t working for me, but I’d be interested in learning more about your friend’s business down there. I’m looking to charter a boat to take the wife and I on an off-the-beaten-path dive to some east end spots.

Exuma, Bahamas...
We went a couple of years ago and stayed at the Sandals resort. The resort was nice and the water is pretty much next to none in the Caribbean. It is worth looking into.

Wife and I looked into staying there, but heard it's pretty much dead every night after dinner, so we decided against it

Going to Turks and Caicos in November. Anyone have tips on getting decent deals on flights? Prices are insane right now.

Was there in July and going back in a few weeks. I recommend if you go that route and want a less touristy feel cross over into Eeleuthera
