What do the FSU, Auburn, TN, Arkansas, A&M, and Georgia games all have in common?

That’s 6 games where the OB play of JD was horrible. Regardless of the yardage in the FSU and TN game, if you watched the game, you can see how deficient his passing game was. Thankfully, 2 of those games LSU still won but how many of you would be ok with 5 losses in a regular season?
Look, JD is a serviceable QB and it’s obvious he has an upside skill set but that won’t be good enough to get this team to the next level. There was a lot of luck that lead this team to win the games it did. If it wasn’t for Perkins, LSU easily loses the Arkansas game.
The one game where it was imperative that LSU wins to remain relevant for the college playoffs and JD laid another egg. BK still couldn’t pull him and give Nuss an opportunity. I get the defense also didn’t show up against A&M but your offense sometimes needs to step up and win games like the A&M game.
BK seemed to be stubborn in his decision to keep JD in some of those games. It was almost like he didn’t want to admit that he was wrong with his decision to start JD and that his decision wasn’t based on competition but was based on a promise to get him to LSU.
JD is now returning to LSU and I can only hope that the offseason competition is truly an open one. We have seen all that we need to see of JD. He has had 4 years of game film. Nuss isn’t perfect, but his ceiling is much higher and can take LSU where it needs to go. JD won’t be leading this team to any college championship game. Sure, he lead LSU to the SEC championship game but it surely wasn’t pretty.
IMO, Nuss needs to be the starter and JD needs to be used as a change of pace QB, very similar to how the Saints utilize Taysom Hill. This way you can utilize each QB’s strengths and you give your team the best chance of winning.

Don’t be surprised if this is how it plays out.

They all included one team who had a starting QB that couldn’t throw the ball. Hint, it was not the team we were lined up against

CBK will make the right call, I have faith.

FSU 25/34 209 Yards Passing 2 TD and 114 yards rushing.
“Terrible”
And that’s a game if you watched Daniels dragged us down the field multiple times and we botched FG and PATs, snapped balls over his head and our star reciver dropped 1 TD and could be bothered to try and catch a second.

I agree except Nuss needs to be able to read the safety

Yes, lots of blame to go around in that game and we all know that stats don’t always tell the complete story. Your eyes usually don’t deceive you. Plenty of receivers were running open downfield in that game. 114 yards rushing tells the story of his impulsiveness to run without hanging in the pocket and getting the ball to his play makers.

Nuss throws INTs like Walker's dad.

You’re actually right. People always talk about Bama, ole miss and Florida. But if you go look at game by game production those were the only games he played well, besides non conference

Y’all are so obsessed with knocking Daniels that you won’t even take 15 yard QBs runs as a good outcome.
He drove us down the field 3/4 of our first half drives and other people fricked up.

I think the issue is defenses are not gonna let his legs beat them next year. He had to learn how to read defenses and make reads quickly. If he can do that come next season he will be just fine. Running QB’s never do well long term.

This is correct! We saw his game get seriously exposed when he was unable to run. This will only be magnified next year when teams go directly to using the Arkansas, A&M, and Georgia game plan on defense.

He definitely needs to improve but again, saying he was terrible against FSU is bullshite.

The frustrating part was the game shouldn’t have even been close at the end. I would have rather him had 350+ yards passing than the rushing yards. He could have easily had that if he wouldn’t have been so eager to run.

lulz
At one point late in the 3rd qtr JD was 8 for 11 for 51 yards, and 4 sacks. LSU was down 2 TDs. FSU went prevent and THEN JD started getting yards
His last 6 passes in prevent
quote:
pass complete to Jaray Jenkins for 22 yds
pass complete to Malik Nabers for 7 yds
complete to Kayshon Boutte for 13 yds
complete to Brian Thomas Jr. for 10 yds
complete to Brian Thomas Jr. for 10 yds
complete to Mason Taylor for 17 yds
vs his first 6 passes
quote:
incomplete to Kayshon Boutte
pass incomplete
complete to Armoni Goodwin for a loss of 4 yards
complete to Mason Taylor for 5 yds
complete to Brian Thomas Jr. for 16 yds
complete to Malik Nabers for 5 yds

JD has good stats but he doesn't push the ball down the field.
When you hold the ball and you run when you aren't supposed to you are gonna get good stats.
If he was so good in the FSU game why did we not really score until halfway thru the 4th quarter.

Can’t imagine your disappointment no matter what happens.

Nuss’s picks were beautiful, though.

This is obviously true and I’m amazed at the people who repeat it yet are absolutely certain that we’re doomed.
“If JD can improve, we’ll be fine. Also, JD sucks and can’t get any better. We’re fricked.” —OP and others.
