Can someone please explain why LSU is +2 against a 8-7 Gator team tonight in the PMAC?

Florida - 57 KenPom, 68 NET, EM 38
LSU - 79 KenPom, 89 NET, EM 57

LSU has a better record, but all the other metrics point towards Florida being slightly better than LSU. Add in the HC advantage, and you get a close betting line.

So in your opinion Florida has a better head coach?

I don't know, but I do know that LSU has the homecourt advantage tonight.

But, if Will Wade was Florida's coach...

Florida's predictive rating is roughly 4 points higher than LSU's. Factor in ~3 points in LSU's favor for home court advantage and you get an opening line of LSU (+1). Some places have Florida's rating a bit higher.

The sports book don't really give a shite about the raw record. It's all math in setting the lines. Despite being 12-3, LSU's predictive (power) rating is not very good. On the other hand, Florida's predictive ranking is better...despite having only an 8-7 record.

LSU is +112 on the ML as a home dog. In college basketball I'm taking live home underdogs any chance I get.

After being throttled by A&M is it really that farfetched?

This team sucks. You probably were also wondering why they were a 10 point dog to A&M. They’re bad. Maybe will win 5 SEC games by luck.

LSU has a bottom half offense vs Florida having a top half defense hard to be a favorite when you can't score. Hopefully we can get some buckets, thinking the first to 60 might win this one.

I'd like to see how the coaching staff responds to the performance Saturday...

Hope to see a better effort tonight...

Have to admit that is what I thought he meant.
