It’s not just one down year though. Last year there were three ranked team, in 2020 there were two. That’s not a tough stretch in the west like some of you keep saying.

We had Oklahoma on the schedule numbnuts. And GT is the same as playing Cal or a terrible Arizona team so I’m not sure why you’re throwing them in there.

And none of that proves the west is a gauntlet

What does vegas do with this? 11.5 wins at -1200? There isn’t a single program ready to give this team a game on that list.

-1200 is 92.3% implied probability, do you understand that? You think you are getting UGA to lose a game at +600 or +650 preseason? Imagine the value that would create week to week.

Based on a power ranking that I subscribe to with a lot of assumptions about the draft, unanswered portal questions, etc. they will have about a 46.9% chance to go undefeated. That seems pretty high to me although the schedule is weak on paper. That number could go up or down as we get closer to August. Imagine if someone hung a +600 number on something with a 53% chance of happening.

In reality the number will probably be 11.5 +100 or 11 even with several dimes of juice.

South Carolina is probably the toughest opponent on there.

So which is it, a cupcake schedule or is the SEC a murderers row that no other teams could ever survive?

That’s an Alabama-like schedule if I’ve ever seen one.

Hard to imagine them not rolling, but Kirby has fumbled the QB position before, and if you get that one wrong, there are games you can lose on that schedule. Nothing is a given, but yes, 11-1 as a floor seems likely.
