Looking for a good place to purchase fresh oysters in BR to be chargrilled at the house. Can anyone share their experiences?

Definitely Tony's. Walked in when it opened for the bowl game, grabbed a sack off the ice and checked out. Pretty easy. I believe it was about $36 IIRC.

I've always had good luck with the oysters from Whole Foods. They also have a variety to choose from, east coast and gulf oysters, the gulf oysters are always fresh and they do a good job of cleaning the outside. They are reasonably priced if you're grilling a couple dozen, I think the gulf oysters are $12 for a dozen. Whole Foods is a more convenient drive for me versus Tony's.

For a sack? I think it's closer to $70.

I guess in your sense it was about a half a sack. Around 3 dozen oysters in the one I grabbed.
