What if the MS River is high, wont it back flow into the diversion?

That part of EBR is on a bluff, and they have a control structure west of highway 61 (Lilly Bayou Control Structure). It was one of the first things they built before it was delayed for years and years. It doesn't do anything now because it's not complete, but you can see part of it on google satellite view.

No, from what I’ve read the high water mark if the Miss River will be lower than the diversion canal.
