Happy 2023 to OT - "Mecca" AKA Monroe the GOAT CITY to grow up in LA (PIC heavy)

Who can think of days gone by and not think of being served LP&L and Reddy
We had it all, my friends. NIRVANA emceed by the GOATs on TV
Even Reagan came to visit.
Old enough to remember when West Monroe was proud of their school and mascot.
Old enough to remember riding to school in Ray Gambino's car with his daughters.
Old enough to remember when this was CenturyTel's INTERGALACTIC Corporate HQ
Old enough to remember getting cussed out by Dr. Talbot and my blood running cold when we pulled in to this parking lot. I knew pain was coming my way either through having my ears lanced or my fingers pricked.
Dr. Talbot didn't pamper crybabies.
Monroe lost this war.

I have never been to Monroe.
I was an adult before I ever went to Alexandria, Shreveport, or Natchitoches.

That toy ad shows an Incredible Edible machine and my older brother had one it was the Thingmaker version made gross gummy candies. I never knew what it was called until now!

Rebels is still the mascot, but the flag is banned.
