Why is Ryan Day getting hate?

-He is 45-6 overall at Ohio State in 4 seasons
-2 Playoff appearances, including a National title game defeat
-2 Big Ten Championships

I have seen some say he is a terrible big game coach. Do terrible coaches do all the above? Do people realize winning a National Championship is hard? He is also young at 43. Some questionable calls tonight, especially late in the game, but to see some people saying fire him is ridiculous

I agree he’s a good coach and firing him is ridiculous, but he’s getting hate because he blew the game by coaching like a scared bitch in the 4th quarter instead of being aggressive like he was the entire night.

There’s no excuse to shut down the offense and settle for a 50 yard FG with a college kicker

When play calls don’t work the OC/HC is going to get the hate.

OSU lost and they had first and 10 at the 30 with 25 seconds left and 2 timeouts. They lost 2 yards on those 3 plays

And I don’t get the hate myself. He tried 3 different play types and the guy should have caught the slant

Whatever hate is there will only grow if he continues to lose to Michigan.

Retards

Ohio state did everything they could do and more. Everybody thought Georgia would blow them out. Ohio state was damn close to winning. What more can you ask for

Well for starters he put the biggest game of the year for him on a kicker that was 0-4 from 50+ going into that FG. Run a QB draw or something. You have 2 timeouts. Pathetic play calling honestly.

His stock went up in my book.

On the last drive people seem to forget that OSU was without their top 2 WRs, top 2 RBs and starting TE. Against the best defense in football. And they were still right there to get the win. 95% of coaches will run it 3 times and go for the kick but he's getting hate for a run play and two pass plays, with no weapons on the field except a QB.

Because he was born on third base and he acts like he hit a triple.

He inherited arguably the best roster in college football and hasn't been able to finish.

He clearly coached his arse off last night and had his guys prepared.

National commentators were predicting a blowout, and UGA cheated death and got lucky. Day’s play calling wasn’t ideal that last drive, but he coached a very good game.

Wanting him fired is ridiculous. He's a really good coach and up till that last drive he called a great game.

But if he loses to Michigan again next year he's getting shite-canned. You don't lose 3IAR to Big Blue and live to tell about it.

I think he is soft and his teams play soft. I’ll give him credit for his team playing great last night but I see that game as the outlier in the last four years. Normally they get out physicaled against Michigan and SEC teams.

He also paints his beard on …

He called a great game. Until the last two series when he got in FG range and turtled. That’s what’s frustrating.

He’s an elite level passing coordinator no doubt. It’s pretty obvious he struggles in critical moments as a HC though.

It also doesn’t help he’s gotten pansted by Michigan two years in a row. If he loses again next year in Ann Arbor, there will be a very large contingent of the Ohio State fanbase calling for his job.

He deserves credit for having his team ready to play. I didn’t think they had a prayer of keeping it a 1 score game. Kirby wasn’t kidding when he said OSU deserved to win. If Harrison doesn’t go out, those final 2 drives might go very differently

This is great on paper. They really do a great job of not taking weeks off and skull dragging their B10 opposition. But his problem so far is this - what’s his record against teams as talented (or close enough) as OSU? I’m not sure he has a winning record, if so it can’t be by much

They should make the 12-team playoff every year going forward, but he needs scalps and to go for jugulars

You can’t overthink single moments but still wondering about his demeanor during the 2019 CFP Selection show. Orgeron’s out there telling people they’ll beat any motherfrickers they put in front of LSU and Day looked like he just saw a ghost when OSU drew Clemson and not Oklahoma

He’ll eventually get them over the hurdle, but until he does he’ll be getting the hate
